Where should the planes have more armor?
During World War II, the US Navy looked at all the planes who had returned from missions in Europe to see where they were damaged. They saw that many of them had damage to the wings, many had damaged tails, some had damaged fuselages, and very few had damaged propellers. They wanted to put more armor on the planes to protect them, but armor is heavy so they could only pick one location. Where should they have put the armor?
